AUDIO NEWS RELEASE: Damaging winds developing over Victoria

Bureau of Meteorology Senior Meteorologist, Matthew Thomas, discusses:

- A Severe Weather Warning for Damaging Winds has been issued for parts of the state from today into Wednesday.

- Damaging north to northwesterly winds averaging 50-60 km/h with peak gusts of around 90 km/h are forecast to develop across central parts of the warning area from early Tuesday afternoon (including the Otway, Macedon and Dandenong Ranges).

- Damaging north to northwesterly winds are forecast to extend to the rest of the warning area late on Tuesday night, with peak gusts of 100-110 km/h likely over Alpine peaks late Tuesday night and into Wednesday.

- Reminder to monitor any severe weather warnings.
