AUDIO NEWS RELEASE: Tasmania's Autumn Climate Summary

Climatologist Ian Barnes-Keoghan from the Bureau of Meteorology Tasmania discusses the following points:

- Autumn in Tasmania was mild, record high temperatures at beginning of the season

- Rainfall was below average for the eastern half of the state during autumn

- Warm May overall, but temperatures dropping near the end

- Cold outbreak in May brought some rainfall to the west, areas of the east still dry

- Hobart's rainfall during May was about half the normal average

- Temperatures will cool for winter, but winter is most likely to be warmer than average.
