Dry conditions returning to the Northern Territory's Top End this weekend
01/06/2021
Dry conditions are forecast for the Northern Territory's Top End this weekend, following a showery start to the week.
The chance of showers in the north will persist overnight and into tomorrow, and the humidity will linger until the dry surge reaches the Top End on Saturday.
Through central and southern districts, it's going to become cooler through the week with the chance of some light showers today and tomorrow as a cloud band moves north, although rainfall totals could amount to 5mm in the eastern Simpson and southern Barkly tomorrow.
Temperatures will become much cooler in the south from mid-week, which will see the risk of frosts return to southern areas from Saturday.
May is officially the start of the dry season in the Territory, though it was a much drier month than usual, with the NT-wide rainfall for May the ninth-driest on record. More info about May weather is here.
Daytime temperatures were above average across most of the NT, while overnight temperatures were generally below average in the west and north-east of the NT.
